Christmas Hats and Paper Plate Spinning
December is a busy month for a lot of people but especially for the solo business owners.
Trying to switch between those hats you wear in your business, plus homelife, children, all the extra social events, additional shopping and don’t forget the extra pressure you put on yourself over the festive period.
Reminder: It’s just a big Sunday dinner, don’t stress.
With all that plate spinning going on it’s easy to neglect your social media and digital platforms.
DON’T
You’ve worked so hard to build your following, remain consistent, raise your brand awareness and nurture your list don’t let it slip now.
There are things you can do to make your life easier.
GENIE TOP TIP: Schedule the hell out of EVERTHING. Yep, schedule as much as you can. Trust me, it will take a lot of the pressure off.
🌟 Blog – if you’re a regular blogger then schedule it to be published.
🌟 Newsletters – if you’re a weekly or fortnightly list nurturer then write them and schedule them. If you follow my 1-4-all method then you’ll be writing your blog and repurposing as newsletters anyway, but again…schedule them.
🌟 Socials – again, schedule. If you like to free post, then you still can. If you schedule Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s posts you can free/live post on the other days…but it doesn’t matter if you don’t because you’re already being consistent and visible.
Reminder: You will still need to check your socials and make sure you interact with anyone that has interacted with you and your posts. Let’s be honest…who’s goes a full day without checking some form of social media nowadays? #FOMOisreal
Scheduling
If you are new to scheduling, then below are my top 3, FREE scheduling platforms (try saying that after a Baileys or two). They are in order of my preference.
If you take to scheduling, then I do recommend you invest in a paid package because then you will have access to all your metrics in one place.
You can only have 3 platforms connected on the free version, but they can be Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google My Business, TikTok, Pinterest, WordPress and YouTube.
🌟 Buffer
Again, you are only allowed 3 platforms on the free version but they can be Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google My Business and Pinterest.
Facebook and Instagram only.

Christmas Content - Selection Blog Ideas
Those that are familiar with me know that I bang on all the time about repurposing content, and my 1-4-all method.
Write 1 blog, break it down into 4 newsletters and break it down further for ALL your socials.
More info on this can be found in my last blog – Are there still benefits to blogging?
Here are some ideas you can use to create a monthly blog, or you can just use them as standalone posts and newsletters.
🌟 What do you love or dislike about Christmas.
🌟Tell people your family traditions.
🌟 What has your journey been so far.
🌟 What can we expect from you and your business next year?
🌟 How do you deal with Christmas overwhelm?
🌟What/who inspires you?
Christmas Content Buffet
For those of you that do like to plan out your socials over the month (and December is no different) but you don’t blog. I would still recommend scheduling your posts (if you don’t already).
But some ideas that require a little bit of planning:
Storytelling
🌟 Share a personal milestone.
🌟 How your feel about Christmas, Winter or the New Year.
🌟 Have you challenged yourself this year?
🌟 What you like to do in your down-time.
🌟 Your year in review.
🌟 Tell a story about a subject you’re passionate about that’s close to your heart:
- Womens health
- Homelessness
- Loneliness
- Health system
- Integrity
- Poverty
- Being an entrepreneur
- Female empowerment
- Diversity (other dance groups are available) 😂
- Sustainability
Advent Calendar
Schedule a post a day in the style of an advent calendar through December.
Yes, a lot of people do this but they’re not you, so do it in your own way.
You can make either 24 or 31 days…it’s your calendar!

🌟 Answers to questions you get asked often.
🌟 Free download
🌟 Gifts / Giveaways
Behind the scenes – your Christmas decorations

Offer someone to take over your Facebook group for a day.
You holiday hacks
Your favourite recipes
Stocking filler suggestions
12 Days of Christmas
You could do this the same as the advent calendar above but instead of 24 or 31 days.
Or you could keep to the one theme i.e. books, films, business related how to’s etc.
Or you could do it in line with the song and create your own alternative days.
Ahem, ahem, ng, ooh, ng, ooh, me me me me meeeeeeee
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
🌟 12 monthly blogs (drive people to your website)
🌟 11 inspiring business owners (give a shout out to those that have helped you)
